365.89 Dancing At Lughnasa

365.89 Dancing At Lughnasa

Found myself at Dancing At Lughnasa earlier tonight, presented by The Barn Owl Players. It runs until Saturday at The Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny, pop in if you can.

365.88 Recording In The Tower

365.88 Recording In The Tower

So I’ve gone from recording history to recording in the tower, earlier tonight recording the great celtic debate for the Kilkenny Archaeological Society. The MacBook Pro is still out of commission so the Vaio had to get me through. The debate was held in The Parade Tower at Kilkenny Castle.

365.87 Daffodils In The Park

365.87 Daffodils In The Park

You’ll find these guys growing by the duck pond in the Kilkenny Castle Park. How long they’ll last there, I don’t know. Spotted someone walking off with a lovely bunch of them soon after.

365.86 Butterflies On The Wall

365.86 Butterflies On The Wall

In calling into the Arts Office today to arrange a gig setup for the end of the week, I was greeted by these. The young kids who were workshopping there with the resident artists put them together and, for the moment anyway, they’re adorning the walls at the back of the Arts Office.

365.85 Kmix In The Kitchen

The Kenwood line just got bigger and more colourful. I want them all – kettle, toaster, coffee machine, the lot. In all colours, thank you very much.

This lot can be found in DID Electrical in Kilkenny, prices start around the sixty quid mark.

365.84 The Buoys Are Back

365.84 The Buoys Are Back

They say a stolen ring buoy is a stolen life. On Patrick’s weekend we took a stroll by the river, starting on the mill side of the bridge, passing five empty ring buoy holders in a row and that was only one side of the river and one end of the river at that.

A call to the guards an ultimately to either the borough council or Irish Water Safety and they’re all restored. With fishing season underway and the good weather settling in for a few days, let’s hope they stay that way.

365.82 National Craft Gallery

Usually here for pleasure, today it’s business to talk tech about some of the upcoming shows at the National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny.

Really, the next time you’re in town, go check it out. A world of culture that won’t cost you a penny.

365.81 Tipping At The Golden Inn

365.81 Tipping At The Golden Inn

We (as in myself and herself) have become very fond of The Golden Inn Chinese / Thai restaurant in Kilkenny. We’ve eaten in once or twice but 9/10 trips will result in a takeaway. This, is how they collect their tips.

Reminds me of the old coin collectors in chemists or bars about 20 years ago (you know the ones, put the coin in, the dog does a trick or nods his lead or wags his tail). I guess design changes but the principle stays the same.

365.80 Trouble Is Here

365.80 Trouble Is Here

Graffiti spotting again, this time down by the canal walk entrance to the Castle Park in Kilkenny (entrance closest to John’s Bridge). Trouble is here? Haven’t seen trouble in the park in years…

365.79 Daffodils In The Park

365.79 Daffodils In The Park

If there’s one thing the Kilkenny Castle Park has going for it, it’s that there’s loads and loads of daffodils out in force, always a great sight to see/
